The World Greatest Sales Person - Joe Girard

Joe Girard has sold more retail "big ticket" items "one-at-a-time" than any other salesperson in any retail industry including houses, boats, trucks, motor homes and any product you can think of. This incredible (AND unbroken) record has earned Joe a place in the Guinness Book of Records as “The World’s Greatest Salesperson”. Through 3 best-selling books and international seminars, Joe has helped many people including top executives from Fortune 500 companies achieve success, not only in sales, but in life.

Joe shares 5 simple rules for success that will help you to increase your sales and profits!

RULE #1 - HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE
Hang around with positive people, stay away from cry babies and complainers, because they will pull you down to their level. If something isn't going right in your life, keep it to yourself, no one wants to hear your problems, make people believe you are having a wonderful time!

RULE #2 - DRESS THE PART
What kind of people are you dealing with? If you are selling to blue-collar workers, don't wear $500 suits and expensive shoes, jewellery or watches as they are a huge distraction. Wear it on your own time, not when you're working because an inappropriate “dress code” can turn people off.

RULE #3 - ORGANISE YOUR LIFE
Keep an appointment book so you don't forget important tasks you need to do. At the end of each day, meditate upon what you did or did not do, so you can become stronger for tomorrow. Plan your work for the next day. If you know where you are going you will get there. If you don't, you are lost!

RULE #4 – SMILE
A smile increases your face value. If people would smile more, your customers would feel better and want to do business with you, plus it's great for your health!

RULE #5 - RETURN ALL PHONE CALLS AND EMAILS
Not returning calls or emails are a way to lose customers and friends. Return your calls and emails ASAP!

How to Become Wealthy

9 Truths That Can Set You on the Path to Financial Freedom
By Joshua Kennon

#1: Change the Way You Think About Money

The general population has a love / hate relationship with wealth. They resent those who have it, but spend their entire lives attempting to get it for themselves. The reason a vast majority of people never accumulate a substantial nest egg is because they don't understand the nature of money or how it works.

Cash, like a person, is a living thing. When you wake up in the morning and go to work, you are selling a product - yourself (or more specifically, your labor). When you realize that every morning your assets wake up and have the same potential to work as you do, you unlock a powerful key in your life. Each dollar you save is like an employee. Over the course of time, the goal is to make your employees work hard, and eventually, they will make enough money to hire more workers (cash).

When you have become truly successful, you no longer have to sell your own labor, but can live off of the labor of your assets.

#2: Develop an Understanding of the Power of Small Amounts

The biggest mistake most people make is that they think they have to start with an entire Napoleon-like army. They suffer from the "not enough" mentality; namely that if they aren't making $1,000 or $5,000 investments at a time, they will never become rich. What these people don't realize is that entire armies are built one soldier at a time; so too is their financial arsenal.

A friend of mine once knew a woman who worked as a dishwasher and made her purses out of used liquid detergent bottles. This woman invested and saved everything she had despite it never being more than a few dollars at a time. Now, her portfolio is worth millions upon millions of dollars, all of which was built upon small investments. I am not suggesting you become this frugal, but the lesson is still a valuable one. Do not despise the day of small beginnings!

#3: With Each Dollar You Save, You Are Buying Yourself Freedom

When you put it in these terms, you see how spending $20 here and $40 there can make a huge difference in the long run. Since money has the ability to work in your place, the more of it you employ, the faster and larger it will grow. Along with more money comes more freedom - the freedom to stay home with your kids, the freedom to retire and travel around the world, or the freedom to quit your job. If you have any source of income, it is possible for you to start building wealth today. It may only be $5 or $10 at a time, but each of those investments is a stone in the foundation of your financial freedom.

#4: You Are Responsible for Where You Are in Your Life

Years ago, a friend told me she didn't want to invest in stocks because she "didn't want to wait ten years to be rich..." she would rather enjoy her money now. The folly with this school of thinking is that the odds are, you are going to be alive in ten years. The question is whether or not you will be better off when you arrive there. Where you are right now is the sum total of the decisions you have made in the past. Why not set the stage for your life in the future right now?

#5: Instead of Buying the Product... Buy the Stock!

Someone once asked me why they weren't wealthy. They always felt like they were putting money aside, yet never seemed to get any further ahead. The answer is simple. I told them to stop buying the products companies sell and start buying the company itself! A survey of America's affluent (those who make over $225,000 a year or own $3,000,000 in assets) revealed that 27-30% of all the income the wealthy earned went into investments and savings. That isn't a result of being rich, that is why they are rich. When the pain of getting out of the bondage of financial slavery is greater than the pain of changing your spending habits, you will become rich. Either change, or be content to live as you are.

#6: Study and Admire Success and Those Who Have Achieved It... Then Emulate It

A very wise investor once said to pick the traits you admire and dislike the most about your heroes, then do everything in your power to develop the traits you like and reject the ones you don't. Mold yourself into who you want to become. You'll find that by investing in yourself first, money will begin to flow into your life. Success and wealth beget success and wealth. You have to purchase your way into that cycle, and you do so by building your army one soldier at a time and putting your money to work for you.

#7: Realize that More Money is Not the Answer

More money is not going to solve your problem. Money is a magnifying glass; it will accelerate and bring to light your true habits.

If you are not capable of handling a job paying $18,000 a year, the worst possible thing that could happen to you is for you to earn six figures. It would destroy you. I have met too many people earning $100,000 a year who are living from paycheck to paycheck and don't understand why it is happening. The problem isn't the size of their checkbook, it is the way in which they were taught to use money.

#8: Unless Your Parents Were Wealthy, Don't Do What They Did

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. If your parents were not living the life you want to live then don't do what they did! You must break away from the mentality of past generations if you want to have a different lifestyle than they had.

To achieve the financial freedom and success that your family may or may not have had, you have to do two things. First, make a firm commitment to get out of debt. To find out which debts should be paid off before you invest and those that are acceptable, read Pay Off Your Debt or Invest?. Second, make saving and investing the highest financial priority in your life; one technique is to pay yourself first.

Purchasing equity is vital to your financial success as an individual whether you are in need of cash income or desire long-term appreciation in stock value. Nowhere else can your money do as much for you as when you use it to invest in a business that has wonderful long-term prospects.

#9: Don't Worry

The miracle of life is that it doesn't matter so much where you are, it matters where you are going. Once you have made the choice to take control back of your life by building up your net worth, don't give a second thought to the "what ifs". Every moment that goes by, you are growing closer and closer to your ultimate goal - control and freedom.

Every dollar that passes through your hands is a seed to your financial future. Rest assured, if you are diligent and responsible, financial prosperity is an inevitability. The day will come when you make your last payment on your car, your house, or whatever else it is you owe. Until then, enjoy the process.

Ways To Develop Positive Attitude

Sharing some ways to help us develop a more positive attitude and better manage the stressors in our life:

- Allow yourself to be loved. The ability to love and be loved is the most basic human trait. We, as a society, have become disconnected from this most basic need - fear-centred emotions (depression, loneliness, guilt and anger) are the symptoms. Finding ways to reconnect with others is extremely helpful in developing a positive attitude.

- Allow yourself to laugh and find humour in the simplest of things. Laughter is a powerful mood elevator. If you are feeling down, read some jokes, watch a funny movie or just act "silly" once in awhile. At times, it is a good thing to let yourself see the world through a child's eyes.

- Listen to internal dialogue. Divide one or more sheets of paper into two columns and, for a few days, jot down in the left column all the negative thoughts that come into your head. Rewrite each thought in a positive way in the second column.

Practice doing this in your mind until it becomes a habit. (For example, "I'll never get this finished by the end of the day!" could become, "I will probably get most of this finished by the end of the day.")

- Learn to communicate. Not saying the things we feel can lead to a sense of frustration, hurt, anger or anxiety . If you find communicating difficult, or are afraid of arguments or bruised feelings, take a course in communicating effectively.

- Get back to basics. Reconnect with old friends, take the dog for a walk, visit an art gallery or listen to your favourite music. Enjoy a long, relaxing bath, read a great book, tell your child a story, or ask an older relative to tell you one! It is the simplest things in life that give us the most pleasure...

- Help someone out. The simple act of helping others helps us to feel good. Pick up groceries for an aging neighbour, volunteer at your local hospital or read a book to someone with failing eyesight. If you are unsure of how to help out in your community, call your nearest volunteer centre.

- Find your spirituality. Research has shown that those who have developed their spirituality through associating with other spiritual individuals or having their own personal and unique beliefs, live longer, more satisfying lives. The secret is practising those beliefs, either through organized spiritual associations, or simple meditation in a quiet place.

- Participate in new physical and mental activities to improve confidence levels and coping mechanisms. It could be as easy as learning the meanings of new words or learning about new topics to build confidence.

- Follow the principles of holistic health (better nutrition and exercise help improve mood and attitude)

- Remember that the mainstream media focuses on information that leads to fear, negative thoughts and emotion. Find other more positive things to do with your precious moments such as reading a great positive book, a walk in nature or volunteering with people and animals.

It is all about letting go of the "emotional baggage" that holds us back from true enlightenment! All that you require is already within you, so do not give your power away by blindly following others.

Rather, trust in the goodness that already resides within your heart.

Just like a plant, when you stop learning and growing, you are dying.

Everything that happens to us happens in purpose.

And sometimes, one thing leads to another. Instead of locking yourself up in your cage of fears and crying over past heartaches, embarrassment and failures, treat them as your teachers and they will become your tools in both self improvement and success.

Patch Adams is a great film that will help you improve yourself. Hunter “patch” Adams is a medical student who failed to make it through the board exams. After months of suffering in melancholy, depression and suicidal attempts – he decided to seek for medical attention and voluntarily admitted himself in a psychiatric ward. His months of stay in the hospital led him to meeting different kinds of people. Sick people in that matter. He met a catatonic, a mentally retarded, a schizophrenic and so on.

Patch found ways of treating his own ailment and finally realized he has to get back on track. He woke up one morning realizing that after all the failure and pains he has gone through, he still want to become the a doctor. He carries with himself a positive attitude that brought him self improvement and success. He didn’t only improved himself, but also the life of the people around him and the quality of life. Did he succeed? Needless to say, he became the best damn doctor his country has ever known.

So, when does self improvement become synonymous with success?

Where do we start?

Take these tips, my dear friends…

  • Stop thinking and feeling as if you’re a failure, because you’re not. How can others accept you if YOU can’t accept YOU?

  • When you see hunks and models on TV, think more on self improvement, not self pitying. Self acceptance is not just about having nice slender legs, or great abs. Concentrate on inner beauty.

  • When people feel so down and low about themselves, help them move up. Don’t go down with them. They’ll pull you down further and both of you will end up feeling inferior.

  • The world is a large room for lessons, not mistakes. Don’t feel stupid and doomed forever just because you failed on a science quiz. There’s always a next time. Make rooms for self improvement.

  • Take things one at a time. You don’t expect black sheep’s to be goody-two-shoes in just a snap of a finger. Self improvement is a one day at a time process.

  • Self improvement results to inner stability, personality development and dig this …. SUCCESS. It comes from self confidence, self appreciation and self esteem.

  • Set meaningful and achievable goals. Self improvement doesn’t turn you to be the exact replica of Cameron Diaz or Ralph Fiennes. It hopes and aims to result to an improved and better YOU.

  • Little things mean BIG to other people. Sometimes, we don’t realize that the little things that we do like a pat on the back, saying “hi” or “hello”, greeting someone “good day” or telling Mr. Smith something like “hey, I love your tie!” are simple things that mean so much to other people. When we’re being appreciative about beautiful things around us and other people, we also become beautiful to them.

  • When you’re willing to accept change and go through the process of self improvement, it doesn’t mean that everyone else is. The world is a place where people of different values and attitude hang out. Sometimes, even if you think you and your best friend always like to do the same thing together at the same time, she would most likely decline an invitation for self improvement.

We should always remember that there’s no such thing as ‘over night success’. Its always a wonderful feeling to hold on to the things that you already have now, realizing that those are just one of the things you once wished for.

A very nice quote says that “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” We are all here to learn our lessons. Our parents, school teachers, friends, colleagues, officemates, neighbors… they are our teachers. When we open our doors for self improvement, we increase our chances to head to the road of success.

Some Inspiration To Share...

Sometimes, pain may be the reason why people change.

Getting a terrible grades make us realize that we need to study. Debts remind us of our inability to look for a source of income. Being humiliated gives us the ‘push’ to speak up and fight for ourselves to save our face from the next embarrassments.

It may be a bitter experience, a friend’s tragic story, a great movie, or an inspiring book that will help us get up and get just the right amount of motivation we need in order to improve ourselves.

With the countless negativities the world brings about, how do we keep motivated and inspired everyday?

Try on the tips I prepared from A to Z…

A - Achieve your dreams. Avoid negative people, things and places. Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”

B - Believe in your self, and in what you can do.

C – Consider things on every angle and aspect. To be able to understand life, you should feel the sun from both sides.

D – Don’t give up and don’t give in. Thomas Edison failed once, twice, more than thrice before he came up with his invention and perfected the incandescent light bulb.

E – Enjoy. Work as if you don’t need money. Dance as if nobody’s watching. Love as if you never cried. Learn as if you’ll live forever.

F – Family and Friends – are life’s greatest ‘F’ treasures. Don’t loose sight of them.

G – Give more than what is enough.

H – Hang on to your dreams. They may dangle in there for a moment, but these little stars will be your driving force.

I – Ignore those who try to destroy you. Don’t let other people to get the best of you. Stay out of toxic people – the kind of friends who hates to hear about your success.

J – Just be yourself. The key to success is to be yourself. And the key to failure is to try to please everyone.

K – keep trying no matter how hard life may seem, eventually, we see a harsh life finally clearing out, paving the way to success.

L – Learn to love your self.

M – Make things happen.

N – Never lie, cheat or steal. Always play a fair game.

O – Open your eyes. People see things in 2 ways – how they want things to be, and how they should be.

P – Practice makes perfect.

Q – Quitters never win. And winners never quit. So, choose your fate – are you going to be a quitter? Or a winner?

R – Ready yourself. Remember, it wasn’t raining when Noah build the ark.

S – Stop procrastinating.

T – Take control of your life.

U – Understand others. If you know very well how to talk, you should also learn how to listen. Learn to understand first, and to be understood the second.

V – Visualize it. Life without vision is like a boat on a dry land.

W – Want it more than anything. Dreaming means believing. And to believe is something that is rooted out from the roots of motivation and self improvement.

X – X Factor is what will make you different from the others. When you are motivated, you tend to put on “extras” on your life like extra time for family, extra help at work, extra care for friends, and so on.

Y – You are unique. No one in this world looks, acts, or talks like you. Value your life and existence, because you’re just going to spend it once.

Z – Zero in on your dreams and go for it!!!

Impossible is Just a Word!

Everyone, at some point of his or her life, has dreamed of being somebody special, somebody big. Who hasn't fantasized about being the one who hits the game-winning homer? Who hasn't dreamed of being the homecoming queen? And how many times have we dreamed of being rich, or successful, or happy with our relationships?

Often, we dream big dreams and have great aspirations. Unfortunately, our dreams remain just that – dreams. And our aspirations easily collect dust in our attic.

This is a sad turn of events in our life. Instead of experiencing exciting adventures in self actualization, we get caught up in the humdrum of living from day-to-day just barely existing.

But you know what? Life could be so much better, if only we learned to aim higher.

The most common problem to setting goals is the word impossible. Most people get hung up thinking I can't do this. It's too hard. It's too impossible. No one can do this.

However, if everyone thought that, there would be no inventions, no innovations, and no breakthroughs in human accomplishment.

Remember that scientists were baffled when they took a look at the humble bumblebee. Theoretically, they said, it was impossible for the bumblebee to fly. Unfortunately for the bumblebee, no one has told it so. So fly it does.

On the other hand, some people suffer from dreaming totally outrageous dreams and not acting on them. The result? Broken dreams, and tattered aspirations.

If you limit yourself with self-doubt, and self-limiting assumptions, you will never be able to break past what you deem impossible. If you reach too far out into the sky without working towards your goal, you will find yourself clinging on to the impossible dream.

Try this exercise. Take a piece of paper and write down some goals in your life. Under one header, list down things ‘you know you can do’. Under another header, write the things ‘you might be able to do.’ And under one more, list the things that that are ‘impossible for you to do.’

Now look at all the headers strive every day to accomplish the goals that are under things ‘you know you can do’. Check them when you are able to accomplish them. As you slowly are able to check all of your goals under that heading, try accomplishing the goals under the other header-the one that reads ‘you might be able to do.’

As of the items you wrote under things I could do are accomplished, you can move the goals that are under things that are ‘impossible for you to do’ to the list of things ‘you might be able to do.’

As you iterate through this process, you will find out that the goals you thought were impossible become easier to accomplish. And the impossible begin to seem possible after all.

You see, the technique here is not to limit your imagination. It is to aim high, and start working towards that goal little by little. However, it also is unwise to set a goal that is truly unrealistic.

Those who just dream towards a goal without working hard end up disappointed and disillusioned.

On the other hand, if you told someone a hundred years ago that it was possible for man to be on the moon, they would laugh at you. If you had told them that you could send mail from here to the other side of the world in a few seconds, they would say you were out of your mind. But, through sheer desire and perseverance, these impossible dreams are now realities.

Thomas Edison once said that genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Nothing could be truer. For one to accomplish his or her dreams, there has to be hard work and discipline. But take note that that 1% has to be a think-big dream, and not some easily accomplished one.

Ask any gym rat and he or she will tell you that there can be no gains unless you are put out of your comfort zone. Remember the saying, “No pain, no gain”? That is as true as it can be.

So dream on, my dear friends! Don’t get caught up with your perceived limitations. Think big and work hard to attain those dreams. As you step up the ladder of progress, you will just about find out that the impossible has just become a little bit more possible.

Starter Guide To Self Improvement - Stay Positive

So how do you stay calm, composed and maintain self esteem in a tough environment? Here are some tips you may to consider as a starter guide to self improvement.

Imagine yourself as a Dart Board. Everything and everyone else around you may become Dart Pins, at one point or another. These dart pins will destroy your self esteem and pull you down in ways you won’t even remember. Don’t let them destroy you, or get the best of you. So which dart pins should you avoid?

Dart Pin #1 : Negative Work Environment
Beware of “dog eat dog” theory where everyone else is fighting just to get ahead. This is where non-appreciative people usually thrive. No one will appreciate your contributions even if you miss lunch and dinner, and stay up late. Most of the time you get to work too much without getting help from people concerned. Stay out of this, it will ruin your self esteem. Competition is at stake anywhere. Be healthy enough to compete, but in a healthy competition that is.

Dart Pin #2: Other People’s Behavior
Bulldozers, brown nosers, gossipmongers, whiners, backstabbers, snipers, people walking wounded, controllers, naggers, complainers, exploders, patronizers, sluffers… all these kinds of people will pose bad vibes for your self esteem, as well as to your self improvement scheme.

Dart Pin #3: Changing Environment
You can’t be a green bug on a brown field. Changes challenge our paradigms. It tests our flexibility, adaptability and alters the way we think. Changes will make life difficult for awhile, it may cause stress but it will help us find ways to improve our selves. Change will be there forever, we must be susceptible to it.

Dart Pin #4: Past Experience
It’s okay to cry and say “ouch!” when we experience pain. But don’t let pain transform itself into fear. It might grab you by the tail and swing you around. Treat each failure and mistake as a lesson.

Dart Pin #5: Negative World View
Look at what you’re looking at. Don’t wrap yourself up with all the negativities of the world. In building self esteem, we must learn how to make the best out of worst situations.

Dart Pin #6: Determination Theory
The way you are and your behavioral traits is said to be a mixed end product of your inherited traits (genetics), your upbringing (psychic), and your environmental surroundings such as your spouse, the company, the economy or your circle of friends. You have your own identity. If your father is a failure, it doesn’t mean you have to be a failure too. Learn from other people’s experience, so you’ll never have to encounter the same mistakes.

Sometimes, you may want to wonder if some people are born leaders or positive thinkers.

NO! Being positive, and staying positive is a choice. Building self esteem and drawing lines for self improvement is a choice, not a rule or a talent. God wouldn’t come down from heaven and tell you – “Joe, you may now have the permission to build self esteem and improve your self.”

In life, its hard to stay tough specially when things and people around you keep pulling you down. When we get to the battle field, we should choose the right luggage to bring and armors to use, and pick those that are bullet proof. Life’s options give us arrays of more options. Along the battle, we will get hit and bruised. And wearing a bullet proof armor ideally means ‘self change’. The kind of change which comes from within. Voluntarily. Armor or Self Change changes 3 things: our attitude, our behavior and our way of thinking.

Building self esteem will eventually lead to self improvement if we start to become responsible for who we are, what we have and what we do. Its like a flame that should gradually spread like a brush fire from inside and out.

When we develop self esteem, we take control of our mission, values and discipline. Self esteem brings about self improvement, true assessment, and determination. So how do you start putting up the building blocks of self esteem? Be positive. Be contented and happy. Be appreciative. Never miss an opportunity to compliment. A positive way of living will help you build self esteem, your starter guide to self improvement.

Innovation Is Important To Attain Success In Life

It's a talent that everyone has, yet they think they don't. The power of innovation. If you've ever marvelled at somebody's creative prowess, guess what, you can create and innovate too. It just takes time. Everyone is born creative. The box of crayons in kindergarten were not limited to those who possessed potential; because the truth is, everybody has potential.

You know how long it took to learn to ride a bike or drive or to never commit the same mistake again? It's the same with innovation. It takes a bit of practice and a lot of time before this mind function comes easily when called. This article will teach you a few tips on how to bring innovation into your life.

Don't listen to what other people say. Follow the beat of your own drum. Allowing for the input of other people will only bring cacophony to the music you are trying to make. If you have an original idea, don't waste your time and effort trying to make people understand. They won't. And the help you will probably get comes in the form of negative feedback. If all those geniuses listened to their peers, we would probably still be living in a backward society.

Spend time on it. Please do not mistake this tip to tell you to quit your day job entirely. Do not. This involves some tricky time management but with a little discipline you'll be able to squeeze both in. End of the day, you might achieve what you want. If you never try, these days might not even stand a chance to exist.

Exercise. Take a walk. Run a mile or two. Send all those endorphins coursing through your veins. Exercising certainly clears and relaxes your mind and allows for anything to pop up.

Record your dreams. Aren't some of them just the craziest things that your conscious mind would never have thought of? If you've had these dreams before, and I'm sure have, this only shows you the untapped innovative power you have lying within. So jot down those notes. Those dreams may just create an innovative spark in you.

Find your own style. You can always tell a Van Gogh from a Matisse. You'll know Hemingway wrote something by the choice of words on the paper. So it is the same with you. People will appreciate your innovation because it is uniquely yours and that no one else would have thought of what you were thinking. That will let people see how valuable an asset you are.

Don't hide behind nifty gadgets or tools. You don't need the most expensive set of paints to produce a masterpiece. The same way with writing. You don't need some expensive fountain pen and really smooth paper for a bestseller. In fact, J.K. Rowling wrote the first book of the Harry Potter Series on bits of tissue. So what if you've got an expensive SLR camera if you're a crappy photographer? Who cares if you've got a blinging laptop if you can't write at all? The artist actually reduces the number of tools he has as he gets better at his craft: he knows what works and what doesn't.

Nothing will work without passion. What wakes you up in the mornings? What keeps the flame burning? What is the one thing that you'll die if you don't do? Sometimes people with talent are overtaken by the people who want it more. Think the hare and the tortoise. Ellen Degeneres once said that if you're not doing something that you want to do, then you don't really want to do it. And that's true. Sometimes you just want something so bad you become a virtual unstoppable. And that is passion. Passion will keep you going.

Don't worry about lack of ideas initially. You can't force it; something idea or inspiration hits when you least expect it to, for those unpredictable yet inevitable moments you should prepare. An idea could strike you on the subway, yet alas, you poor unfortunate soul; you have no sheet of paper to scribble down a thought that could change the world. Avoid these disasters. Have a pen and paper within your arm's reach at all times.

I hope this article has helped you bring more innovation into your life. Keep in mind that you're doing these things for your own satisfaction and not anybody else's. But soon enough they will notice, and everything should snowball from there.

Cheers!

Don't Worry, Be Happy!

Almost everyone have heard the hit single 'Don't Worry, Be Happy' by Bobby McFerrin. The song has a very catchy way of conveying its message of being happy to everyone. Bobby Mcferiin's simple message surely made a lot of people by telling them not to worry.

Living a happy, resilient and optimistic life is wonderful, and is also good for your health. Being happy actually protects you from the stresses of life. Stress is related to the key reason and sickness to death such as heart disease, cancer and stroke.

One of the better things ever said is - 'The only thing in life that will always remain the same is change', and in our life we have the power to make the necessary changes if we want to. Even if we find ourselves in an unbearable situation we must always find the reason to be happy in the knowledge that the situation too would change.

Social networks or relationships are essential to happiness. People are different, accept people for who or what they are, avoid clashes, constant arguments, and let go of all kinds of resentments. If arguments seem unavoidable still try and make an effort to understand the situation and you might just get along with well with it.

Happiness is actually found in everyone, increasing it is a way to make a life more wonderful and also more healthy.

To be happy is relatively easy, just decide to be a happy person. Abraham Lincoln observed that most people for most of the time can choose how happy or stressed, how relaxed or troubled, how bright or dull their outlook to be. The choice is simple really, choose to be happy.

There are several ways by which you can do this.

Being grateful is a great attitude. We have so much to be thankful for. Thank the taxi driver for bringing you home safely, thank the cook for a wonderful dinner and thank the guy who cleans your windows. Also thank the mailman for bringing you your mails, thank the policeman for making your place safe and thank God for being alive.

News is stressful. Get less of it. Some people just can't start their day without their daily dose of news. Try and think about it, 99% of the news we hear or read is bad news. Starting the day with bad news does not seem to be a sensible thing to do.

A religious connection is also recommended. Being part of a religious group with its singing, sacraments, chanting, prayers and meditations foster inner peace.

Manage your time. Time is invaluable and too important to waste. Time management can be viewed as a list of rules that involves scheduling, setting goals, planning, creating lists of things to do and prioritizing. These are the core basics of time management that should be understood to develop an efficient personal time management skill. These basic skills can be fine tuned further to include the finer points of each skill that can give you that extra reserve to make the results you desire.

Laugh and laugh heartily everyday. Heard a good joke? Tell your friends or family about it. As they also say -'Laughter is the best medicine'.

Express your feelings, affections, friendship and passion to people around you. They will most likely reciprocate your actions. Try not to keep pent up anger of frustrations, this is bad for your health. Instead find ways of expressing them in a way that will not cause more injury or hurt to anyone.

Working hard brings tremendous personal satisfaction. It gives a feeling of being competent in finishing our tasks. Accomplishments are necessary for all of us, they give us a sense of value.

Work on things that you feel worthy of your time. Learning is a joyful exercise. Try and learn something new everyday. Learning also makes us expand and broaden our horizons. And could also give us more opportunities in the future.

Run, jog, walk and do other things that your body was made for. Feel alive. Avoid exposure to negative elements like loud noises, toxins and hazardous places.

These are the few simple things you can do everyday to be happy.

And always remember the quote from Abraham Lincoln, he says that, "Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be."

10 Ways To Start Taking Control

At first glance, it would seem that positive thinking and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) have nothing to do with one another. But many of us with ADD develop negative thinking patterns because we become frustrated by our challenges and frequent feelings of being overwhelmed. This negative outlook then makes it even harder for us to manage those challenges and move forward.

Practicing positive thinking allows people with ADD to focus on our strengths and accomplishments, which increases happiness and motivation. This, in turn, allows us to spend more time making progress, and less time feeling down and stuck. The following tips provide practical suggestions that you can use to help you shift into more positive thinking patterns:

1. Take Good Care of Yourself

It's much easier to be positive when you are eating well, exercising, and getting enough rest.

2. Remind Yourself of the Things You Are Grateful For

Stresses and challenges don't seem quite as bad when you are constantly reminding yourself of the things that are right in life. Taking just 60 seconds a day to stop and appreciate the good things will make a huge difference.

3. Look for the Proof Instead of Making Assumptions

A fear of not being liked or accepted sometimes leads us to assume that we know what others are thinking, but our fears are usually not reality. If you have a fear that a friend or family member's bad mood is due to something you did, or that your co-workers are secretly gossiping about you when you turn your back, speak up and ask them. Don't waste time worrying that you did something wrong unless you have proof that there is something to worry about.

4. Refrain from Using Absolutes

Have you ever told a partner "You're ALWAYS late!" or complained to a friend "You NEVER call me!"? Thinking and speaking in absolutes like 'always' and 'never' makes the situation seem worse than it is, and programs your brain into believing that certain people are incapable of delivering.

5. Detach From Negative Thoughts

Your thoughts can't hold any power over you if you don't judge them. If you notice yourself having a negative thought, detach from it, witness it, and don't follow it.

6. Squash the "ANTs"

In his book "Change Your Brain, Change Your Life," Dr. Daniel Amen talks about "ANTs" - Automatic Negative Thoughts. These are the bad thoughts that are usually reactionary, like "Those people are laughing, they must be talking about me," or "The boss wants to see me? It must be bad!" When you notice these thoughts, realize that they are nothing more than ANTs and squash them!

7. Practice Loving, Touching & Squeezing (Your Friends and Family)

You don't have to be an expert to know the benefits of a good hug. Positive physical contact with friends, loved ones, and even pets, is an instant pick-me-up. One research study on this subject had a waitress touch some of her customers on the arm as she handed them their checks. She received higher tips from these customers than from the ones she didn't touch!

8. Increase Your Social Activity

By increasing social activity, you decrease loneliness. Surround yourself with healthy, happy people, and their positive energy will affect you in a positive way!

9. Volunteer for an Organization, or Help another Person

Everyone feels good after helping. You can volunteer your time, your money, or your resources. The more positive energy you put out into the world, the more you will receive in return.

10. Use Pattern Interrupts to Combat Rumination

If you find yourself ruminating, a great way to stop it is to interrupt the pattern and force yourself to do something completely different. Rumination is like hyper-focus on something negative. It's never productive, because it's not rational or solution-oriented, it's just excessive worry. Try changing your physical environment - go for a walk or sit outside. You could also call a friend, pick up a book, or turn on some music.

Success Stories Of World Wealthiest Men In This Planet Earth

Bill Gates and Warren Buffett are 2 of the most outstanding business leaders of our time. Together, they share their personal experiences in an extraordinary conversation about success.

From the cover pages of Forbes to headline making news of Fortune Magazine, Bill Gates and Warren Buffett have become famous for gracing every business publication you can possibly imagine. Microsoft boss Bill Gates is often credited with the creation of the PC industry while legendary Berkshire Hathaway chairman Warren Buffett is the “World’s 2nd Richest Person” as ranked by Forbes. Gates and Buffett have different backgrounds, but they agree on one thing: You’ve got to enjoy what you’re doing to be able to see success.

Hope you learn something from an excerpt of conversation with Warren Buffett and Bill Gate that I extracted from an online seminar at SkyQuestCom:

How do you define success personally?

WARREN: Well, I can certainly define happiness. Because that’s what I am. (Audience laugh) I get to do what I like to do every single day of the year and I get to do it with the people I like. I don't have to associate with someone who causes my stomach to churn. (Audience laugh) And the only thing in my job I don't like, and it only happens in about 3 or 4 years, is that occasionally I have to fire somebody. I don't like that. It is the only thing, other than that, I tap dance to work.

And I get down there, I think I am supposed to lie on my back and paint the ceiling, that’s the way I feel! It's tremendous fun. They say success is getting what you want and happiness wanting what you get. Well, I don't know which one applies in this case but I do know I wouldn't be doing anything else. I do advise you to go work for an organisation you admire, with people you admire, because it will turn you on and you ought to be happy at where you are working.

I always worry about people who say, “I’m going to do this for 10 years, even though I don't like it very well but I will do 10 more years of this.” I mean that's little like saving up sex for your old age. (Audience laugh hard) It’s not a very good idea, so get right into what you enjoy and you will be successful at it! (Audience laugh hard) You really will, you wouldn't be able to miss.

I don't regard what I do is the most important thing in the world but it's right for me. I happen to be wired in a certain way in that what I do works in this. It lasts about 10 minutes and that's true for a lot of things. But luckily I kind of stumbled on the thing I do best and it's worked out.

BILL: I find that the key point is that you’ve got to enjoy what you do everyday. For me, that's working with very smart people. It's working on new problems. You know every time we think, “Hey we have a little bit of success”, we are pretty careful not to dwell on it too much because the bar gets raised, as do people's expectations of the products. We always get customer feedback telling us that machines are too complicated, they are not natural enough.

And the competition, the breakthroughs, the research, make the field I'm in, which I think is the most exciting field there is. There's another good field- biotechnology is a good field because it is changing the world of medicine and health. But the computer industry, in particular software, I think is the most exciting. I think I have the best job in that business.

WARREN : (Quips jokingly) Don’t you think Dairy Queen is more important? (Audience laugh)

BILL : You can manage Dairy Queen. I'll go and buy the Dilly bars.

WARREN : I'm counting on it. We'll raise the price when you come. (Audience laugh and clap)

BILL : (Replies jokingly) Ok.

WARREN: I have turned down business deals that were otherwise decent deals because I don't want to deal with people I don't like to work with. I didn't see any sense pretending it and to take it on, to get involved with people who cause your stomach to churn. I say it’s a lot like marrying for money. It's probably a bad idea under any circumstances but it's absolutely crazy if you're already rich, right?

The is only the tip of the iceberg of the 54 minutes conversation with Warren Buffett and Bill Gates ...

Your Golden Compass To Success In Life

The latest hot topic that I have been discussing or touching on when meet up with friends is either Self Improvement or What Do You Want in life.

To me, they are kind of inter-related to each other.

Life is prone to have challenges, issues, problems, obstacles, etc ahead of us. However, it shouldn't bother or even hinder us from becoming what we want to be or ought to be.

That's where self improvement play a role. We must keep improving and growing ourselves bigger than our problems. Then, the so-called problem will be too small to be a real problem to us. That's how we should manage our life and achieve what we want.

To help some of my friends to explore further, I have posted some of the relevant articles on self improvement and what do you really want in life in this blog lately.

At the same time, I recommend one of the latest cutting edge tool by SkyQuestCom for friends who are keen to improve and catch up with what they have been left lagging behind.

Some of the friends are open to the ideas and start learning. Some of them are still lost...

To help my lost friends, I am sharing another 8 questions you can ask yourself and as a guide to self improvement.

Hope this is helpful to you, my friends...

1. What do you really want?
The question of the ages. The No.1 reason why people don't get what they want is because they do not know what they want.

So many things you want to do with your life and so little time to even go about during the day. Find something that you are good at can help realize that small step towards further improvement.

Click here for more about what do you really want...

2. Do you need a change?
There's always the easy way and the right way when it comes to decision making. We can be comfortable with what we are doing by taking the easy way out. However, is that the right way or the way that will lead us to what we want?

If not, we might need a change to be back on the right track.

How to change? What are the tool and ways available to help to change?

Personally, I attend self improvement seminars and courses on annual basis. This is one of the fastest way to help gather the latest information and technology for self improvement purpose.

3. What's the bright side of all this changes?
With so much that is happening around us esp for those who are running on the rat race and stuck at the 9 to 5 job. There seem to be no room for even considering that light at the end of the tunnel.

We can still see it as something positive without undergoing so much scrutiny. If it's a train at the end of the tunnel, take it for a ride and see what makes the world go round!

Never try, never know...

4. Have you done enough for yourself?
Have you? or is there something more you want to do? Discontentment in every aspect can be dangerous in large doses, but in small amounts you'll be able to see and do stuff you could never imagine that you could be doing.

5. Are you happy at where you are today?
It's an unfair question, so let it be an answer!

You love being a good and loving mom or dad to your kids, then take it up a notch! Your kids will love you forever.

The same goes with your everyday life! You have to love yourselves in order to be loved and happy.

6. How much could you have?
I suppose in this case there is no such things on having things too much or too little, but it's more on how badly you really need it.

I'd like to have lots of money, no denying that, but the question is that how much are we willing to work for it?

7. What motivates you?
What motivates you? It's an answer you have to find out for yourself.

There are so many things that can make everyone happy, but to choose one of the many may be the hardest part. It's unlike the case where you can't have some of your favorite food in a buffet and forget about it.

To find what motivates us, we just need to try and test it piece by piece, day by day...

8. What Really Makes You Tick?
So? What really makes you tick?

It can be anything that we always want to be. However, to achieve something that seem much difficult and bigger than us might resulting us giving up before we even start the journey.

Hence, we need to keep learning and growin ourselves to be bigger than our challenges. Then, whatever that we want to attain will appeared to be something much achieveable before we given up.

Last but not least, always remember that self improvement is not just about the physical or philosophical change that we have to undergo but it's something that we really want...

By improving and growing ourselves day by day, the big challenge will appear relatively smaller and everything will be possible at the end of the tunnel.

Financial Freedom and Self Improvement go hand in hand

Financial freedom and self improvement go hand in hand to achieve success in life.

How do a person know whether they need to continue learning and growing themselves?

This is a question with no definite answer.

It will all depend on the individual.

Many people have goals, dreams or ambitions but do not know how to go about achieving them. They may have thought about what would self improvement can help them to achieve their ideal life or financial freedom. However, they have no idea how to even begin to make the plans and take the actions required to make them a reality.

Some people have a vague idea on how to go about self improvement. These are the ones that believe that if only they had a better job, or had been given better opportunities, or met the love of their life, or whatever else, everything would be fine and they would be happy.

They feel that their happiness or lack of happiness is decided by external factors and their thoughts and actions are of little consequence.

Some believe that if only they had more money they could have whatever they want and be on their way to self improvement.

They may have spent little time thinking about what they actually want from life, and do not really believe there is anything they can do to create their fuzzy version of utopia anyway, apart from buying more lottery tickets.

There is another group who does not even know what they actually want from their lives and may even have little idea what would really makes them happy. They seem to just drift from day to day, week to week, month to month, and year to year, and do little more than just about get by.

Those who stuck in the rat race may have seemingly secure jobs and be earning enough to live relatively comfortable lives. They may seem happy enough and have no great ambition to achieve anything more from their lives than they currently have.

So, is self improvement really important?

The reality is that throughout our lives we are all constantly growing and developing. If we are not learning and growing everyday, we are dying.
Circumstances make us grow and develop, even if we do not make the conscious decision to do so. Up to a certain age, we learn through formal education and we continue to learn through our experiences for the rest of our lives. We have to learn and grow to deal with everything that life throws at us. We all have to go through self improvement.

Modern life moves at a dramatically faster pace than at anytime in history. For anyone living in modern society there are more opportunities to do anything that you want to do with your life than ever before.

However, there is also more competition than ever before, and ever changing technology means that there really are few, if any ‘jobs for life’ anymore.

It is now normal not only to change jobs quite often throughout our working lives, but even to completely change careers and industries.

Because the workplace is so competitive, people who are ambitious and hungry for success know they need to learn new skills and knowledge to keep ahead of the pack.

To attain this, self improvement is critical and needed.

These are the people that will be most likely to keep their jobs, or progress within their chosen field, or that will be readily employable in different organizations or industries.

A commitment to self improvement and personal growth may well be the deciding factor in achieving success in life be it financial or time success.

I have gone through this whole thought process. Procastinate. Wasting time. Stuck at the junction and do not know where to head to...

Don't wait any longer if there is an amazing tool that can accelerate our self improvement process by learning from the world experts and gurus at our comfort any time any where. Your goal is to learn and grow the most in the shortest period of time.

What is stopping you from growing?

What is stopping you from achieving what you want?
Nothing except you...

This tool has helped me a lot to keep learning and improving myself and get out of rat race and I hope you can benefit from it too.

Which is a more effective way of learning? Reading or Watching and Listening?

Have you heard about speed or fast track reading?

Speed reading is just like when we are driving and speeding along the freeway or highway. Speeding may allow we to arrive at our intended destination. However, along the way, are we able to take note of the things that we may have missed while speeding along the fast lane? As in driving, zooming in fast does not give enough opportunity to see and enjoy the view.

It is the same to speed reading.

Much of what we learn can be acquired through reading. The simple activity of getting in a comfortable position and start reading a book of our choice opens up a new world for us. Reading enables us to tap into the minds of great people.

The more we read, the more we know. In the hope of reading more books, some attempt fast track reading. It is believed that the faster we read, the more we cover.

Fast track reading may involve reading by phrases and concepts compared with the word-for-word method. Fast track reading enables us to cover more pages with the same rate. However, one limitation of this method of learning is that we tend to remember only a small portion of the main idea. There is danger that we might miss the important details in the book.

There is a solution for this. Few people are aware of this seldom-talked about technique in fast learning. This is based on the principle that the mind thinks in pictures.

Learning is accelerated when we “see” the whole idea of the write-up or book. Seeing “live pictures” of ideas and thoughts of the writer makes learning experiential and unforgettable.

When we see nothing while reading, we learn nothing. Fast reading becomes useless. Just going through the motions of fast reading can give us a hazy picture of the subject matter. But like a mist, this picture often quickly evaporates into thin air. Fast reading without visual pictures often informs but very seldom impresses.

Impressions last while information changes with time. Past information is easily forgotten in favor of new ones. Impressions change you, and these are stored permanently in the mind.

For learning to become effective, it requires brief pauses to be able to visualize and reflect. Effective learning is not about how fast you can finish reading a book. It is more on how you effectively comprehend the ideas brought forth by the writer.

SkyQuestCom understands this very well and provides an amazing tool that not only helping us to learn faster while allowing us to capture the impression of the authors or speakers directly.

Just imagine how great would it be if you can have Robert Kiyosaki summarizing the gists of "Rich Dad Poor Dad" and delivering the messages to us through a visual and audio media.

Instead of spending hours and hours reading the book, we now receive the key messages directly from Robert Kiyosaki in less than 60 minutes video seminar.

How wonderful is that, isn't it?

With the innovation of internet, learning through online seminars has shorten our learning cycle tremendously compared to reading few hundred pages of books. With the greater visual and audio effect, learning by leveraging on online video seminars is definitely something that we can not afford to miss for not leaving behind the internet era.

We need to continue learning and growing the most in the shortest period to catch up with those ahead of us.

Remember, if we are not learning and growing everyday, we are dying!

We don't want to be another group of zombies!

Simple Tips To Keep You Motivated Everday!

Occasionally, do you feel that life is just meaningless, dull, empty, purposeless, negative especially when you are lost at the junction of life...do not know the direction where are you suppose to be heading to...

If yes, you just need to find ways, helps and tools to keep you upbeat and fully charged all the time. Life is short. Just don't spend to long wondering at the cross road.

In fact, life is just like the set menus of restaurants whereby different kinds of foods are being served at different time or stage - from appetizers, to main dishes, to desserts - life also has its menu for an upbeat life. Different people have their own individual menu that keep them happy, cheerful and optimistic.

Discover what's your favorite menus in life. They will help to keep your life meaningful, fulfilling, enjoyable, inspiring, and interesting.

Personally, I try to minimize negativity and kick start my day positively by watching at least one motivational web seminar of the world class speakers like Robert Kiyosaki, Anthony Robbins, T Harv Eker, John Foppe, Joe Girard, Denis Waitley, John Gray and lots more by SkyQuestCom.

One of my favorite inspiration is the online video of Mr John P. Foppe, author of famous books: What’s Your Excuse? and Armed With Hope. John Foope was born without arms, yet, he is able to cook, eat, drive, draw, type and is married to a wonderful lady.

Watching how he tackles life with his toes really amazes me esp after hearing his message from the web seminar, I am not looking at him but myself. John takes away all my excuses and gives me a new perspective in my life especially my journey to financial freedom.

"Our only handicaps are those mental and emotional ones that prevent us from participating fully in life." Every pathway to success is a step-by-step process requiring a focus on resources instead of handicaps, assets instead of liabilities. Enjoy this short video by John...

Cool? Amazing? Want more inspiration from John Foppe?

Another amazing video by John Foppe

On top of that, the other way to keep ourselves motivated and upbeat is help the needy, the poor, the handicapped, the ailing, the broken-hearted, the homeless, the lost, and the environment.

The list can go on and on...

When we help the needy - in services, monetary value, or other forms (lending a shoulder to cry on or an understanding ear to listen to other people’s problems) - the returns are ten folds over.

However, don’t expect anything in return. Just the contentment we experience in our heart is an incomparably satisfying feeling. Giving something wholeheartedly without expecting anything in return is divine. Imagine ourselves as the person on the receiving end. We can’t wait to return the favor once we get the opportunity to do so.

Another way to enjoy life is to listen to music. Play our good old favorite songs and sing along. Sing our best. Sing carelessly or out of tune - whatever it takes to make our heart contented and whatever makes us laugh and happy.

Just hum the tune if we don’t remember the words. Sing until we laugh heartily. The idea is to keep ourselves happy and cheerful. Do this in private with our close friends or relatives though. We don’t want to annoy our neighbors too... :)

In fact, my favorite is the sound of nature is also music. The sound of river flowing, the gust of wind on a tree branch, waves on the seashore, and birds chirping are as natural as nature can be, and the way music should be. The sound of nature can make us relax, positive and optimistic because it is a beautiful and serene sound.

At the same time, we need to face the reality too. Life does have its share of troubles, disasters, and misfortunes. Bad news exists and it disturbs our minds. Totally ignoring it may not always be the answer to approach life in a realistic manner. However, we can always find ways to avoid being affected by it to maintain the dominance of life’s beauty.

A party without humor and laughter is a dull one. The same is true in our life. Fill our life with lots of humor and laughter to keep it upbeat. The more spontaneous a humorous situation is, the more natural it is, and the better it can liven up our spirits.

Look at the lessons that can be derived from misfortunes. Mistakes allow us to learn and see opportunities hidden behind adversities. Always find meaning from every event in our life. See through the shell game and value every lesson that we learn.

Sincerely hope this is helpful and meaningful to you too...

If you are not learning and growing everyday, you are dying!

If you are not learning and growing everyday, you are dying!

What have you been learning lately?

When was the last time you read a book?
Are you a wide reader?

In a gathering, you can tell who the wide readers are. Wide readers think and speak well. They win the admiration, respect, and good opinion of others.

Reading expands the mind. In fact, many people consider it as one of the satisfying pleasures of humans, for it involves physical as well as mental activities.

Reading is primarily a mental activity. After all, you read with your mind and use your imagination to paint the setting of the detective thriller you are reading. You use you mind to imagine the pain that the main character experiences as the story unfolds. You bring into play the different arguments and ideas brought up by the author in that self-help book you are holding.

To read effectively, reading helps you develop a wide vocabulary through extensive reading. A skillful reader has a wide recognition vocabulary. He may not know exactly what every word means, but he will have a good general idea of the meaning of the sentence.

Reading makes you alert and curious about new words. Other readers develop the dictionary habit. Every time they come across a strange word, they try to figure out what it can possibly mean by the context. If they cannot do this, they refer to the dictionary.

Likewise, reading develops intellectual curiosity by exposing you to a variety of materials. You learn to read by reading books of increasing difficulty and variety. As in other forms of activity, you learn by actually doing.

Reading trains you to have an active and open mind. Merely grasping the writer’s idea is not enough. You must make a positive response to what you read. Be an active, not a passive, reader. Develop the habit of drawing your own conclusions, the habit of active thinking, of agreeing or disagreeing with the author. Keep your mind open; understand and weigh the ideas that you read. A practical part of active reading is the drawing of conclusions.

Allow me to share four basic rules for effective reading::

1. Try to read more and more. Remember the saying that practice makes perfect. Practicing in the correct way makes perfect.

2. Develop the habit of reading for main ideas. Look for the subject and predicate. Do not waste time on details or little words.

3. Learn to read with focus and concentration. Think of what you are reading. Do not let your attention wander somewhere else. Good readers read with understanding.

4. Learn to budget your time. Experiment with your reading time. Try purposely to read faster. Give yourself a time limit on specific material that you read.

However, what if you are a slower reader like me? The progress of reading is just seem slow no matter how hard you try. Disappointed at the slow progress at time and thinking of giving up?

What if there is a tool for you to learn through visual and audio media? It allows you to grab the gist and learn the most in the shortest period by watching video seminars of the experts at the comfort of your house, or when you are having coffee at Starbucks as long as there is an internet access.

That is just perfect, isn't it?

Allow me to introduce this amazing tools and resources to you... SkyQuestCom...
