An Environment of Sector Rotation Than General Trending...

Read a post by Brett Steenbarger and would like to share with friends here. I agree with Brett that the stock market is an environment of sector rotation, rather than a general trending up or down.

"... I follow a basket of 40 stocks, which consists of five highly-weighted issues within each of eight S&P 500 sectors...

Interestingly, after Monday's drop and Tuesday's rise, we have 13 of the stocks in the basket trading in uptrends, 14 neutral, and 13 in downtrends. This suggests an environment of sector rotation, rather than one of general trending...

Weakness in the commodity-related sectors, Materials and Energy, is evident. The two strongest sectors are among the most recession-resistant: Consumer Staples and Health Care... "

Tips To Save Money During Recession - Tip#19 - 20

Tip# 19 - Recycle

Try to recycle your stuff that will save you money.

Have you ever received and kept a nice gift that you like from somebody but will never use? Rather than leave it in the store room or take it back to the store for an exchange, consider keeping it to give as a gift to someone that might use it.

Another way to recycle is looking around your home. There are always things right in your home that can be used to make nice gift baskets - things that you never use. For example, the next time you purchase shampoo where you buy one and get one free, keep one for yourself and set the other one aside for future gift giving. You will find hundreds of ideas and will not run out of what to buy as a gift. So, be creative and consider things you purchased by have never used.

Tip#20 - Shop Online

Many online businesses offer great bargains due to its lower cost structure. In some cases, some online businesses are offering free shipping. Since the internet is such a competitive market, you can usually find fantastic deals. In addition, many of your favorite businesses where you shop in person have websites that offer even greater savings. Bookstores such as Amazon.com do sell books up to 70% off the original price. Overstock.com is another online business that sells closeout items for fantastic bargains. eBay.com is offering some goods at very competitive auction price...

These items can be small or large appliances, gardening tools, clothing, makeup, and kitchen wares, whatever you have at the store room that collecting years of dust. List them on eBay.com. Get back some money by selling these items no longer needed and put the money in your savings account not to be touched.

Tip#18 - Turn Your Hobby Into Money

Everybody has a skill - find yours and turn it into money. For example, if you have a skill for woodworking, start creating children's toys or curio cabinets to sell. Perhaps, you are computer savvy and could teach a class at your local community college. Find something that you enjoy and turn your hobby into money.

We're human. Therefore, for many of us, we don't change our eating habits until the doctors or diseases force us to. We don't change our spending habits until we have to sacrifice the things we love. We don't always embrace spirituality until our days on earth are numbered. It's the rare, but enlightened person who chooses to change before change is thrust upon him or her. 6 Critical Factors To Financial Freedom And Wealth Building

There are keys to wealth and financial freedom that those who have attained them understand. If you wish to build wealth and achieve financial freedom, then it’s crucial to learn these 6 key factors. Here are 6 things that the successful understand but not the poor or average...

1. They believe in themselves!

Successful people believe nothing can stop them from reaching their goals – financial and otherwise. They do what is necessary to reach those goals. That means they even do things they dislike or take on tasks that seem impossible.

You can sense their self-belief and can almost see it when they enter a room. Successful people exhibit a high level of self-confidence that is contagious. Most are optimistic and maintain a positive outlook even when life is tough. Their confidence is not easily shaken by external factors. They see opportunities in problems!

2. They learn from people who have achieved more than they have!

Successful people know that in order to grow they need to learn from those who have already realized greater success. They know that when you stop growing you are dying!

They ask questions, study and learn from others. One man that I interviewed said to me, “No one has asked me questions like this before!” I wasn’t surprised to hear that as I have heard it before.

3. They recognize the tremendous value of time!

Successful people understand time is their most important asset. They know it is a very scarce resource. They don’t spend much time watching television soap operas. They spend most of their time to find ways to best leverage on their valuable time.

Wealthy people know the power of the use of leverage to achieve maximum gains with minimum efforts. When you can leverage time, you can achieve tremendous results!

4. They understand the importance of investing in themselves!

Successful people understand that many expenses are investments. They know that by spending money to acquire an asset or skill (learning) they will realize a future return. In many cases that return will be a large multiple of their original expenditure. (A good accountant will help them to see this, too!)

Many successful people spend good amounts of money on educational and motivational resources – CD’s, seminars, books, membership websites and more. They know that it is an investment that can never diminish in value because it is an investment in themselves.

5. They implement strategic monetary decisions!

Wealthy people place a significant portion of their wealth in some type of investment that gives them a better return than a savings account. These investments might be real estate, gas and oil, stocks, bonds, or their business.

Successful people also know that not putting all your eggs in one basket is critical. There are far too many stories of people losing everything because
everything was riding on one horse that couldn’t make it to the finish line.

6. They understand the power of being generous givers!

Many wealthy people are also great givers. They have come to see the importance of giving to something beyond themselves. They know that as they give to their community, college, church and other organizations they are helping others and that, too, is a great investment!

To be sure there are tax benefits involved, in some cases tremendous tax benefits (i.e., charitable remainder unit trusts), but for most successful people it is a benefit of giving and not the primary motivating factor.

Building The Habit of Saving

The power of saving is only one of those things that you truly "get"after time passes by. And I'm not talking about compound interest.

I'm talking about the feeling you get when you know you have something tofall back on. The pride you feel when you see the tangible results of your self control and discipline.

The knowledge that you can get by on much less than you realized without sacrificing too much in terms of the quality of your life. And the fact that you are no longer a slave to money, but undoubtedly, the master to money.

Tips To Save Money During Recession - Tip#15 - 16

Tip#14 - Go for non-branded

When buying food, try some of the non-branded or generic items. Unless you or your guests are going for fine dining and must have the best of the best, they will not know if the green beans were generic or a top name brand. Once you add some butter, salt and pepper, no one will know the difference except you - $15 per can vs $6 per can! People do not realize that many generic brands are actually manufactured by name brand companies, just branded with a different name.

In fact, companies such as those that make snack food will have conveyor belts that run side-by-side - one for the name brand and one fore the generic brand. This is quite common and the only difference is the label and price.

Tip#15 - Take advantage of sales

As you shop, if you notice that a brand that you and family use on a regular and consistent basis is on sale for a great bargain, try to take advanrage of the sale. For a example, if you use a particular type of shampoo or tooth paste costing $8 bucks per bottle or tube, you found that these items are on sale for $4, go ahead and buy 2 bottles or tubes. You should only do this on items that you know they will be used.

Tips To Save Money During Recession - Tip#13 - 14

Tip#13 - Saving Attitude

Good money management is an acquired skill or habit. Human being is a creature of habit. As you go along to build your saving habit, you need to have a determining and positive attitude which is critical to keep you and family heading to the right direction. If you think you can not save, then, you probably can not. If you think you can, you can. Either way you are right.

So, be determined and stay positive to saving.

Tip#14 - Need vs Nice To Have

When going for shopping, make sure that the thing you want to spend on is a "need" and not a "nice to have" nor a "want". Sometimes, this can seem like a fine gray line between a "need" vs a "want". However, if you stick to the need list, you will eventually spend less and cut down a lot of things which is nice to have and not necessity.

Tips To Save Money During Recession - Tip#11 - 12

Tip#11 - Utilities Usage

Set up some rules in your home such as turning lights off when leaving the room, having only a parent adjust the air or heat, leaving the doors or windows open when letting either cold or hot air into the house. Utilities are expensive especially when oil and gas price surged to record high recently. A great money saver is to monitor how they are used in your home. Another great idea is the investment of buying an energy-efficient hot water heater. If you cannot affort one, lower the setting so you are not heating water so hot. The hotter the setting, the more energy is being used. This idea is applicable to air conditioners too...

Tip#12 - Check The Garbage

One mother had her teenage daughter clean her room. the daughter proudly did just that, filling 2 huge trash bags of things that she no longer wanted.

Out of curiosity, the mother peeked into one of the bags to see what were being thrown away. To her surprised, she found a new tube of suntan lotion, 2 sweaters in perfect condition, makeup, lotion, a picture frame, hair curlers, all are in good condition. The daughter did not realize that just because of these items were no longer needed, they might be to somebody else.

After talking to her daughter, the mother turned around and listed the items on eBay, selling the "junk" at $35 bucks.

Tips To Save Money During Recession - Tip#9 - 10

Tip#9 - Patience

Be patient when it comes to saving. This means that you need to accept that it will take time to save and good planning. Be patient and remember that just because you want something, do not rush to buy just to satisfy your urge. Instead, wait for sales in order to get the best price, which in turn will save you money

Tip#10 - Break Old Habits

Take time to observe and learn the various things that "trigger" your spending habits. When you are depressed, lonely, sad, anxious, excited, whatever it may be, do you spend more? For example, when you receive your pay check, do you have on overwhelming "need" to spend money. Perhaps, you notice that when you are bored, you head for the shops. Knowing what affects you will help you to discipline yourself to find other ways of comfort.

Be Aware Of A Scam by ContactThem.com! It Is Too Good To Be True!!!

I just found an email in my spam folder with Subject: "I've visited your website: http://blog.inspiringjourneytofinancialfreedom.com/".

The content of the email is as below:

Hi,

We've seen your
website at
http://blog.inspiringjourneytofinancialfreedom.com and we love it!

We see that
your traffic rank is 1872389 and your
link popularity is 0.

Also, you have been online since
< "Online since" >.

With that kind of
traffic, we will pay you up to
$4,800/month to advertise our links on your

The ContactThem Network

Pls be aware of this scam and don't fall into the trap. It appears to be too good to be the true!

For sure the $4,800 monthly caught my attention. Then, I noticed that there was a flaw on the registration date of my domain which appeared as < "Online since" >.…This attracted my attention and be more alert that it must be a scam and potentially a link that might spread virus around.

After google search for "ContactThem.com", I found a couple of Rip Off or Scam Reports on similar websites like ContactThem.com, ContactThem.net, ContactThem.biz, ContactThem.info, ContactThem.tv....etc

Apparently, this is a scam from the freeadguru, Stephan Ducharme. The scam sounds like this:

"This page has been assaulted by tens of thousands of people in the past few hours! A lot of people are reading this page while you are because TODAY you can download new software worth $250,000.00 that finds leads for FREE!

As soon as you'll Download "ContactThem" software, you'll instantly find thousands of Leads: Clients, visitors, subscribers, network marketing leads (Yes, MLM leads!), Internet marketers, affiliates, website owners & business partners in any category ... FOR FREE!

Type in any keyword, press "Search" and the LEADS appear! You get their name, email address, phone number, postal address,
and more!"

Also, out of curiousity (I guess it is the nature of human being), I clicked the link and visited the website. I was surprised to see that it is a professionally designed website with a recorded audio telling you how great is this webpage as below:

"After millions of dollars invested and over 2 years in development, we’ve just launched the fastest growing program since Google Adwords and as viral as Hotmail. Over 300,000 people have visited this page in the first week and thousands are joining every day! Growing faster and faster every minute, this program propagates extremely fast.

We'll pay you up to $4,800/month to add our links on your website for 1 month!*

And even if you only show our links for one month, we'll keep on paying you that $4,800 EVERY MONTH!*

Keep showing our links on your website for a second month, and you'll double your monthly paycheck!*

From that moment youll receive a paycheck of up to $9,600 every month, and that is even if you choose to remove our links from your website.*..... "

Ya right!

After further reading, I can confirm that it is a scam...too good to be the true! Where is the money come from? The subscribers themselves!

There are tonnes of scam reports on ContactThem.com, if you were to google search "ContractThem.com review" on the net. One of them is as below:

http://paidopps.blogspot.com/2008/03/contactthemcom-scam-rip-off-no-pay.html

So, don't fall into this get-rich-quick gimmick!

Would you like some chicken soup for your soul?

Along with his business partner Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen is best known for creating what Time magazine called “the publishing phenomenon of the decade”. Chicken Soup for the Soul books are one of the most successful publishing franchises in the world today, with more than 140 million books sold internationally. The name “Chicken Soup” was chosen because of the use of chicken soup as a home remedy for the sick. In this inspiring video, Mark shares his insights on the ideas that went behind his best-selling book, his thoughts on success and the stories in life that inspire him.

The following conversation is an excerpt from SkyQuestCom video interview.

SKYQUESTCOM: Mark Victor Hansen is best known for his series of books based upon Chicken Soup for the Soul. Thank you very much for joining us today. My first question, the original Chicken Soup for the Soul first appeared in 1993, and it's become a phenomenal success. What was the inspiration for the book? Why did you write it? And what were some of your goals for the books when you first started?

MARK: Jack (Canfield) and I are both professional speakers. Jack did the educational market, I did the business market. And I taught him how to do dramatic stories that touched your heart. Everybody cries and then they gave us a standing ovation and bought all our books and tapes so, he came up with the idea that he's gonna do a happy little book.

And I said, "Let's do it together." We worked really hard, and coming up with the title. We did a deep meditation one night in our respective homes and said, "Make a best selling title, make a best selling title." Came up with Chicken Soup for the Soul at 4.30 in the morning. We both got goose bumps, our respective wives thought we're nuts. Then we spent the next 3 years working 24/7 to do it. Went to New York to start it, and 144 publishers all said, "Ain't gonna sell. Short stories don't sell."

Finally, we went to book Expo and and one little publisher - Health Communications said, "We'll take it, but we think we can sell 20,000." And you know, we said, "No, no, no, read our business plan! We'll do a year. In a year and a half, we'll do a million and a half." We did a million three the first year and then, went on to 5 million and 10 million and 50. And now we're at 144 million and our goal is a billion. And we've got a pending contract in China , I can't tell you whether it'll come through.

My partner is a Harvard Mandarin scholar, and he's figured how to interface Chinese and English, which is very tough because we read front to back, China reads back to front. We read left to right, they read right to left. But Jack, he's a genius. I only have brilliant partners. I'm not that smart but I got really good partners. I’m very thankful for it. So the inspiration was we wanted to do a book that would change the whole world one story at a time. And, we're up to 147 books. At retail, we sold $1,400,000,000 worth of books. We have more licenses than anyone in non-fiction. Like we sold $2 million worth of dog food a month called Chicken Soup for the Soul Dog Food and it's all organic and it's really good for dogs

SKYQUESTCOM: What do you believe is the secret to the success for Chicken Soup for the Soul?

MARK: Two, I would say. I mean, we spent 3 years figuring out the formula but because it's instantaneous behavioural change. If you read one of the stories, it's going to, you know, pique your interest, touch your heart, get you to change your behaviour.

I think that we contribute on every book, we tie it on every book we ever write, to a charity that we mutually agree upon, with ourselves and our publisher and the co-authors and all. And you know they helped us a lot, like when we did the third 'Chicken Soup'. I was the spokesperson of the American Red Cross. I've got 1,300,000 volunteers and, our book you know, in just a day or two went to number one because we gave away a little sampler, everybody that gave blood - we're out of blood in America. And I got all the chiropractors, which is a group I work with - 62,000 doctors brought in 100 patients each and give them a free adjustment. And you know the sales just skyrocketed.

And we do different things like that, like we had aside 50 million Diet Coke cases, with ourselves and Nora Roberts’ book Hidden Riches. And we sold enough books in 6 months. All the money went to charity and we raised enough money to get 15,000 kids off the streets in the Boys and Girls clubs, partnering with Coke. We're had Campbell soup cans and we worked it out so when you open up the wrapper, it had an accordion three-fold with our stories all the way through and it sold a little book. We had 600 million Campbell soup cans. I'm blanking out which charity we've done, because we've done about 80 different charities. But it was a giant charity drive and that was really good. So we keep coming up with brand new ideas on how to sell like, somebody said, "Well, you all know you should sell more books!" And well, we did a Chicken Soup for the Soul Bible and we got little stories to get you into the big story. And we sold about 70,000 a week in Wal-Mart so, it is really good!

The rest of the conversation and Mark Victor Hansen’s full-length video is available at SkyQuestCom’s Master Channel.

Tips To Save Money During Recession - Tip#6 - 8

Tip#6 - What Matters To You

Make a list of the 10 most important things in your life. Next, rank each of the item in accordance to its importance to you from 1 to 10. The purpose of this exercise is helping you to identify the most and least important things and the reason why you need to save. You need to find out the "What", only then the "How" can follow through.

Some of the examples of this important things that a person might want can be a new home, car, a special family trip, starting a business, or pay off your debts which is burdensome.

Tip#7 - Goal Setting

Next, break your goals into short-term, intermediate term and long-term. Being able to see your accomplishments is a great motivator for you to work hard at saving. If you set a short-term goal of saving for tickets to your favorite concert and reach that goal, you will be encouraged to keep saving for the intermediate and long-term goals.

Tip#8 - Written Plan

When a person goes into business, they work out a business plan which becomes the blueprint of their business. The same can apply to saving money. Work out a written plan that the entire family can get involved with and learn their role. When you start to spend too much, go back and look at your saving plan to identify where are you messing up and how can you and family fix it.

More saving tips for the written plan will be shared in the next posts...

Stay tune...

Tips To Save Money During Recession - Tip#4 & 5

Tip#4 Buy In Bulk

It is true that warehouse shopping can save a lot of money. Even if you have a small family, you can always split large quantities. The price of items in bulk is generally a greater bargain. If you are single, you can go for bulk purchasing and share with friends or family on bulk items.

Tip#5 Allowance

Do not forget to give yourself an allowance for things you enjoy. Even if on a tight budget, buy something that you enjoy, which could be as simple as buying a new shirt or grabbing lunch as your favorite cafe. If do not allow yourself this small "splurge", you could find yourself in the same position as if dieting. Total deprivation leads to overindulgence.

Tips To Save Money During Recession - Tip#2 & 3

Tip#2 - Budget

Everyone should create or have a budget. If you are not sure or just not good with money, many websites or businesses are offering free financial consulting to help you put a budget together. Knowing where you are spending your money is by far the best way to save. In most cases, people have no idea where their money is really going and once they see it on paper, ont only are they surprised but eager to change their spending habits.

Remember, human being is a creature of habits. Good spending habit is critical to wealth.

Tip#3 - Plan

Planning is another great way to save. Before you go to the grocery store, make a list and stick to the plan. If considering a vacation, plan everything accordingly. Not only it will help to save you from wasting unnecessary time looking around, it is a great way to save money by prebooking some of the hot offers online or taking up some of the real offers by budget airlines or hotels.

Heading out with no set direction will certainly lead you to impulsive spending.

This is a good and right time to do what I want

This is a good and right time to do what I want.

Tips To Save Money During Recession - Tip#1

Everyday, when we turn on the TV or watching CNBC financial news, it seems like the sky is falling.

Oil prices keep on going up, stocks keep on coming down, housing prices are plummeting, inflation is pushing everything up, foreclosures are happening everyday, people you know are losing their jobs, people are getting deeper and deeper in credit card debt – it’s as if the whole world is collapsing.

Naturally, when we hear about all this news and we react accordingly by limiting our spending and trying to save some money. In fact, saving is not that hard, just a matter of learning all the different options and being creative.

Although some of the ways of saving money might not seem as much, once we add the saving up at the end of the year, we will realize how substantial the savings really are.

Always remember that saving is more than a single lump sum of money put aside. Opportunity to save can be found in our day-to-day life by the way we live and choices we make.

Since human being is a creature of habit, saving is a great habit to wealth. Just need some time to change and groom a good habit to money management.

Rome was not built in a single day. Neither is our saving habit. Each penny save is a penny more than before. It is time to start building our saving habit for better future especially during economy hard time...

Tip#1 Clearance Sales

Always head straight to the clearance rack where we can find amazing bargains. Sometimes, we may need to dig a little bit to find the right items, however, the saving is well worth our time. Most clearance racks offer variety, current trends and great value.

Imagine John Gray and Robert Kiyosaki are sitting at your kitchen...

“Imagine Finding Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus Author John Gray Sitting At Your Kitchen Table, Buttering A Bagel, While Rich Dad Poor Dad Author Robert Kiyosaki Pours Coffee...”

I read this latest update from Skyquestcom. Kind of like the idea and share...

Imagine with me a little scenario...

It's 7 AM and the doorbell rings. Your spouse shuffles to the door, opens it wide and says...

“Honey? Some guys are here and they want to talk with you...”

You stumble out of bed, shaking your head and thinking, “Who could be stopping by at this hour?” Pulling on a bathrobe, you slowly make your way into the kitchen...

...and you can't believe what you're seeing.

There's world renowned author and relationship coach John Gray sitting at your kitchen table, buttering a toasted bagel, while Rich Dad Poor Dad author Robert Kiyosaki pours himself a cup of coffee.

“Hey! Great to see you!”, John says, springing up to shake your still confused hand.

“Have a seat and let's get started. We got a LOT to go over today. Oh...and do you have any cream cheese?”

Now you know something is out of whack.

"How Can Two Of The World's Most High Profile Authors And Coaches Be In YOUR Home, Ready To Spill Their Secrets?"

This has gotta be a dream...you rub the sleep out of your eyes and look again.

But there they are, opening their laptops and putting their cell phones on vibrate.

“Okay”, John begins. “Today I'm going to cover how to keep a spark in your relationship with your spouse. Then Robert's going to reveal his secrets to acquiring massive wealth while working less. Now listen closely and take notes because we only have a few minutes...”

I know it sounds crazy. But here's the kicker...

You could have something similar to this in your home every day.

That's right—every day you could get insider access to the world's most advanced marketing and personal development minds.
